Soli-Soli Festival is one of the most highlighted event during the town fiesta of San Francisco, one of the municipalities in the island of Camotes. The festival shows the rich culture of San Francisco, how it depicts the lives of the people and how it shows the uniqueness of the “San Franciscohanons”. The festival portrays a ritual about the legend of Lake Danao, one of the exotic beauty spots in the municipality of San Francisco, handed down from the past generations, thus making it one of the cultural heritages in the rich island of Camotes.
The Festival was named Soli-Soli for “soli-soli” plant grow abundantly in the costs of Lake Danao. Soli-Soli plant also, is one of the sources of living the in town folks of San Francisco, specifically those who live near the lake. The plant can be made into different products such as bags, mats, hat and many other products.
This festival is held during our town fiesta celebration in honor of our patron, Saint Joseph. It's one way of showing our gratitude to him for all the good things and graces our town and our citizenry has been receiving from his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ through. His guidance and support. This year the Soli-Soli Festival is scheduled to transpire on March 15, 2009.
